Frequently asked questions
Our answers to the questions we hear about machine selection, heat treatment, quotations and support. Have a specific component in mind? Talk to us.
About our machines
What power range do you build?
We build induction systems from 5 kW to 500 kW, including billet heaters from 50 kW to 300 kW. Our ABE model pages cover power supplies from 15 kW to 120 kW. We select the rating for your component and production requirements.
What does the model number mean?
The number identifies the power rating in kilowatts. Our ABE-50AB is a 50 kW supply, and our ABE-120AB is a 120 kW supply.
What frequency do your machines run at?
We build medium, high and ultra high frequency machines. We select the frequency for your material, component geometry, heating zone and required case depth.
What shaft diameters can you harden?
Our PLC controlled vertical scanner covers shaft diameters from 20 mm to 120 mm. Configurations include ABE-25AB stationary hardening up to 30 mm, ABE-50AB up to 60 mm, ABE-60AB up to 80 mm and ABE-120AB up to 120 mm. We confirm suitability against your part and process.
What case depth is achievable?
Our PLC controlled vertical scanner covers case depths from 0.8 mm to 5 mm. We develop the cycle around your steel grade, geometry and hardness requirements, then verify the result on your component.
Can the machine be automated?
Yes. We build PLC and CNC controlled machines, including vertical and horizontal systems, double station machines and rotary indexing systems. We tailor the handling and controls to your production flow.
About the process
Which steels can be induction hardened?
We assess the material grade and starting condition before selecting a hardening cycle. Medium and high carbon steels are common candidates. Low carbon grades may need prior carburising, while austenitic stainless steels do not harden by this heat treatment route. Send us the material specification for your part.
Do parts need tempering after induction hardening?
Tempering is often required to achieve the specified balance of hardness and toughness after quenching. We develop the sequence around your material and acceptance criteria and can discuss integrating tempering into the machine.
How much distortion should I expect?
Distortion depends on the geometry, material condition, heated zone, fixturing and quench. We assess those factors with you and develop the process against your dimensional tolerances. We also supply laser hardening equipment where that process suits the part.
Is induction always better than a furnace?
No. We recommend a process according to the job. Induction suits localised heating and repeatable production cycles. Furnace heating may suit long soaks, through-heating or mixed batches better. Our technical library explains the trade-offs.
Why does the machine need demineralised water?
Our induction systems use a dedicated cooling circuit for the coil and power electronics. Water quality, flow and temperature affect reliable operation. Follow the water specifications and maintenance instructions for your machine.
Buying and support
What do you need from me to quote?
Send us your part drawing, material grade, treated zone, required case depth or temperature, and production rate. Tell us what happens before and after heating so we can plan the handling and controls. If some details are still open, we can work through them with you.
How do you price a machine?
We prepare a quotation for your application. Power, frequency, coil design, handling, cooling and automation all affect the configuration and price. Share your requirements so we can put together a suitable proposal.
Do you export?
Yes. Contact us with your destination, electrical supply and project requirements. We will discuss a suitable machine and the delivery arrangements for your location.
What documentation can you provide?
Tell us which technical documents, inspection records or certification requirements your procurement team needs. We will confirm what applies to the proposed machine before you order.
What support is available after installation?
We provide service and support across India from our Faridabad works, Monday to Saturday, 09:00 to 18:00 IST. We will discuss commissioning, training, spares and warranty arrangements for your project.
Can I visit the works?
Yes. Contact us to arrange a visit to our works at Plot No. 89, Bhakri Industrial Area, Bhakri Pali Road, N.I.T. Faridabad. You can find our address and Google Map on the Contact page.
