Inductors and parts at temperature

Coils are built in house, to the component. Several of these show steel actually at hardening or forging temperature.

  • A steel bar glowing bright orange inside a multi-turn copper induction coil during end heating, with the coil itself unheated.
Bar end heating. Only the bar is hot.
  • A cast iron ring gear glowing orange around its full circumference inside a circular induction coil, mounted on its fixture.

  • Four helical induction coils laid out on a workbench, each wound from copper tube with white insulation between the turns.
    Four inductors, four different components.
  • A hairpin copper inductor positioned over a forged steel component clamped on the machine bed.
