Materials stored in drums often will not pour. Oils thicken, waxes solidify, resins and adhesives set, bitumen goes hard. Heating the drum is the usual answer, and the usual methods are slow, uneven, or involve an open flame next to a container of flammable material.

Induction heats the drum wall directly with an electromagnetic field, and the wall passes that heat evenly to the contents. There is no flame, no smoke and no hazardous emission. Response is fast because there is no intermediate heating element to bring up to temperature first, and the setpoint can be held precisely, which matters for temperature-sensitive materials.

We build these machines for chemical, petrochemical, food and beverage, pharmaceutical, and construction and bitumen applications, in configurations for steel, plastic and coated drums of various sizes.

Questions engineers ask

Is it safe with flammable contents?

There is no flame, no spark and no combustion product. The heat is generated in the drum wall itself. That is the principal reason induction is chosen over gas or open-element heating for solvents and fuels.
