Flywheel ring hardening and shrink fitting machines
Two processes on one component: hardening the starter ring gear, and shrink fitting it onto the flywheel.

A flywheel starter ring gear has to survive being engaged by a starter pinion tens of thousands of times, and it has to stay on the flywheel while doing it. Those are two different manufacturing problems and we build a machine for each.
The ABE-120AB flywheel ring hardening machine hardens the ring so the tooth flanks resist wear. Induction suits it because the ring can be heated around its circumference and quenched in a controlled sequence, giving consistent hardness all the way round rather than the variation a flame or a furnace produces.
The shrink fitting machine is a PLC controlled temperature-based heating system for fitting flywheel rings and gears, with an inbuilt DM water cooling and circulation system. The ring is heated until it has expanded enough to drop over the flywheel, then allowed to contract onto it. Get the temperature right and the interference fit is exactly as designed; get it wrong and the ring either will not go on or is loose when it cools.

Questions engineers ask
Why shrink fit rather than press fit?
A shrink fit gives a much higher interference than you could press together without damage. Heating the ring expands it enough to drop over the flywheel with clearance, and it grips as it cools. There is no galling and no press force on the tooth form.
How is the ring temperature controlled?
The machine works on measured temperature rather than a fixed heating time, with a PLC holding the cycle. That matters because the fit depends on how much the ring has actually expanded, which depends on its actual temperature.
