Applications
We help you choose a heating process around the result your component needs. Explore how each application works and the machines we build for it.
Tell us your material, treated zone and production rate. We will work through the process and machine requirements with you.
Induction hardening
A hard, wear-resistant case on a tough core, in seconds, with the heat placed exactly where you want it.
Typical partsShafts and axle shafts, Gears, sprockets and splines, Bushes, bearing seats and journals, Flywheel starter ring gears
Induction brazing
Joints that come out the same every time, because the heat is placed by a coil and timed by a machine.
Typical partsCarbide tips on cutting tools and saw blades, Copper to steel and copper to copper joints, Tube and fitting assemblies, Motor and electrical assemblies
Induction annealing
Softening metal, relieving stress and restoring formability, on the section that needs it.
Typical partsDrawn tube ends before flaring or forming, Wire and strip in continuous processing, Cold formed components needing inter-stage softening, Welded or machined parts requiring stress relief
Induction tempering
Trading a little hardness for a lot of toughness, in line with the hardening machine.
Typical partsInduction hardened shafts and axle shafts, Hardened gears and sprockets, Hand tool heads after hardening, Any component where as-quenched brittleness is unacceptable
Induction shrink fitting
Assembling interference fits by expanding the outer part instead of forcing it on.
Typical partsBearings onto shafts, Gears onto shafts, Motor housings and stators, Flywheel starter ring gears
Induction billet heating
Steel at forging temperature in seconds, paced to the press, with far less scale.
Typical partsForging billets for auto components, Bar stock for hand tool forging, Fastener blanks, Agricultural implement blanks
Bar and end heating
Heating only the end of the bar that is about to be formed, and nothing else.
Typical partsSledge and claw hammer heads, Chisels, pick axes and hoes, Bolt and fastener blanks, Agricultural implement ends
Induction pre-heating
Bringing a component to a controlled temperature before the operation that follows.
Typical partsCI rings, drums and bushes for the alloy wheel industry, Weld preparations on thick or hardenable steel, Components before forming or bending, Assemblies before shrink fitting
Induction bonding
Activating an adhesive or bonding layer by heating the metal it is bonded to.
Typical partsBonded metal assemblies, Friction and facing assemblies, Metal to polymer assemblies
